ANNOUNCEMENT OF PGDC & PDC PROGRAM – (WINTER SESSION) 2023-24
Jindal Institute of Power Technology (JIPT) is a premium learning and training institute in the field of power and energy. It is located in the lap of OP Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant (4X250 MW & 4X600 MW) Jindal Power Ltd at Tamnar, Raigarh (C.G.). It is recognised as a Category – I Institute by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power, Government of India.
JIPT is running the flagship program of Post graduate diploma (PGDC) for graduate engineers and post diploma course for engineering diploma (PDC) students of one-year duration in power technology since inception, year 2010. Successful completion of this course statutorily authorizes trainees to undertake the jobs in thermal power plants of above 100 MW capacity. JIPT also provides training to power plant professionals of all levels. It conducts internship programs and customised training programs as per the needs of the industry in the field of thermal as well as renewable energy. PGDC & PDC program comprises classroom, on job in various O&M areas of the plant and operation simulator training as per guidelines of CEA. JIPT has a team of highly experienced Faculties in regular roles as well as actual working professionals in the plant. Also, students have an opportunity of direct exposure and hands-on experience in the plant and its training on replica simulators of 135 MW, 250MW & 600MW units. This facility being unique, enhances the overall knowledge and skill of students related to the operation and maintenance of modern power plants. How to apply
Online Application Process
The submission of online admission form for PGDC/PDC has the following stages:
- Open The URL https://online.jipt.org/PreAdmission/Register
- Complete Registration Process (Which Will Create A ‘User Name’ & ‘Password’)
- Your ‘User Name’ And ‘Password’ Is Informed Through Email
- Re-Login To The System Using Your ‘User Name’ And ‘Password’ Which You Have Received.
- Fill Admission Form Online
- Upload Your Recent Photograph (Maximum Size 50KB In JPG Format)
- Upload Your Specimen Signature (Maximum Size 50 KB In JPG Format)
- Read The Declaration And Check The ‘Declaration’ Box
- Preview Your Data And Confirm Details
- Make Payment Of Fee Through The Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking
- Payment Confirmation Message Is Sent To You Through Email
Selection Process
1. The selection process comprises of 2 parts
- Based on the Past academic performance
- Performance in the personal interview
Based on the above performance the merit list will be prepared as follows

As a part of the above process the candidates will be required to appear for the online personal interview. The date of the interview will be informed later.
2. Personal Interview :
Based on the above merit list will be prepared. The committee in particular will look into a consistently good academic record, professional accomplishments, etc.
3. Acceptance of Admission Offer :
A candidate accepting the offer within the stipulated date needs to send along with a commitment fee of ₹ 10000/- (the date of submission will be mentioned in the admission offer letter) which will be adjusted against the amount of the first installment.
4. Withdrawal :
If a candidate subsequently wishes to withdraw the offer within the stipulated date, ₹ 10000.00 will be deducted as processing charges.
5. Registration and Inauguration of the Programme :
The joining date and commencement of the course will be intimated through mail.

Online Examination Instructions
Online Examination has Two Parts
Part One –Individual streamwise questions
Part Two – Aptitude Test
Students must answer 75 multiple-choice -questions within the 75 -minutes time frame allotted for the examination. Students should answer 50 questions as per their Branches of Engineering and 25 questions in the Aptitude test.
Before the start of the examination:
- Make sure you have a good internet connection.
- Shut down all Instant Messaging tools (Skype, AIM, and MSN Messenger) and Email programs as they can conflict with Portal.
- You may attempt an online examination on Desktop/Computer/Laptop/Smartphone.
- During the examination, if you log in to any app, or open any browser tab and unusual activities you will be automatically terminated by the system and will not allow to log in for a second time. It is suggested during the examination time don’t login/use any unusual activities, apps, or any browser tab.
- Maximize your browser window before starting the test. Minimizing the browser window during the examination. It can prevent the submission of your examination.
- Click on the Click here to open the examination. The link is provided in the email from the Institute.
- When you begin the examination, click the link only ONCE to launch the test. Double-clicking can lock the test.
During the examination:
- Do not resize (minimize) the browser during the test.
- Never click the “Back” button on the browser. This will take you out of the test and prevent Portal from tracking your selected answers.
- Click the “Submit” button to submit your examination. Do not press “Enter” on the keyboard to submit the examination.
- The student must not use his or her textbook, course notes, or receive help from a proctor or any other outside source.

Recruitment Process
1. Invitations are sent to companies/organizations in the form of brochures with relevant information along with response sheets enquiring about the recruitment details. Soft copies of the brochure and response sheet are also sent.
2. The company fills the response sheet and sends it by e-mail/post to the Training and Placement Department, JIPT Raigarh.
3. Once the details are received, the placement officer and coordinators get in touch with the company and a mutually convenient date is fixed for the Campus Placement process.
4. The travel plans are obtained from the company and the necessary arrangements are made as follows.
- Pickups/Drops From/To The Railway Station Or Airport Can Be Arranged By The JIPT On Request If The Place Of Stay Is The Institute Guest House.
- Accommodation/Food Are Provided At The Institute Guest House On Prior Intimation And The Costs For These Are Borne By The College. In Case The Company Wishes To Stay Outside The Campus, Arrangements Will Be Made On Request But The Costs For These Are To Be Borne By The Company.
- OHP, Slide Projector, LCD, Laptop Etc. Will Be Provided For The Pre-Placement Talk.
- Halls Will Be Arranged Suitably For The Pre-Placement Talk, Written Tests, Group Discussions And Activities And Personal Interviews.
- If A Company Desires To Hold Online Tests For The Candidates, The Arrangements Will Be Made In The Computer Center On Prior Intimation. Up To 60 Students Can Take Up The Test At A Time.
5. The Offers Are Made By The Company After The Selection Process And The Offer Letters Are Signed And Accepted By The Concerned Students And Sent To The Company Through The Training And Placement Department. The Department Recommends Offers To Be Made On The Spot After The Process With A Letter Of Confirmation Signed By The Visiting Company Representatives. Short Listed Or Waitlisted Candidates Will Be Allowed To Sit For The Companies That Follow As Long As Their Confirmation Is Put On Hold.
