1. Test Score cut-off to shortlist for Video Interview (VI) :
The Jindal Institute Of Power Technology (JIPT) On Line Entrance Test Score will be used for short listing candidates for VI. Credit Score, Entrance test and VI agregate cut off shall not be less than 50 % for admission. JIPT is well prepared for intake of three batches comprising 50 students in each batch. Minimum intake planned is 120 out of short listed merit list to be prepared for PDC and PGDC (Power) . 

JIPT entrance test will be of 100 minutes covering- power technical, problem solving ability, analytical skills and language proficiency of a candidate. The test will have 100 questions consisting of several sections on Technical aptitude from domain area (Mechanical/Electrical/EEE/Electronics/Instrumentation & Control), logical Reasoning, Quantitative Analysis, and English comprehension.Each question will carry one mark and  negative marking is ruled out.

2. Video  Interview (VI) :
Upon being shortlisted as per the score of entrance test the candidate has to appear for a VI. JIPT will assess the suitability of the candidates for the programme based on the aggregate score of the candidate. The committee in particular will award credit marks for academic record, professional experience, accomplishments etc.

3. Preparing the Merit List :

Merit List will be prepared based on credit, Test Score and Video Interview.

4. Criteria for Preparing the Merit List :
The criteria for preparing the Merit List will be as follows:

5. Acceptance of Admission Offer :
Shortlisted candidates accepting the offer within the stipulated date needs to deposit commitment fee of ₹ 20,000/-. This deposit will be adjusted against the amount of first installment.

6. Withdrawal :
If a candidate subsequently wishes to withdraw the offer within the withdrawal date specified in the Offer Letter. Only ₹ 5000/-  will be deducted as  processing charges. 

7. Inauguration of the Programme :
Inauguration of the Programme is planned in July and shall be intimated 20 days prior to start of the successive batch.
